Powin Energy Will Build Three EV Charging Stations for Kanematsu USA/EV Collective

Powin Energy, a wholly owned subsidiary of Powin Corp., has secured a purchase order to build three units of an electric vehicle fast charging station for Kanematsu USA, whose EV Collective division is a leader in manufacturing and technologies that serve the electric vehicle industry.

Powin Energy’s Tualatin facility will construct the units. The DC fast charging stations will have the capacity to power a Nissan Leaf to 80 percent charge within 30 minutes. The first unit will be installed in Oregon and the other two units are tentatively scheduled to be installed in Hawaii.

“This is another important step in our growth as a manufacturer,” said Virgil Beaston, CTO. “We hope this is just the beginning of a long and productive relationship.”

The new Kanematsu USA/EV Collective order follows Powin Energy’s 2012 successful partnership effort with EV4 Oregon and Portland-based OpConnect to produce and install two EV charging stations in Oregon.
