November 13, 2020 | Eaton has launched the Ferrups FXTM uninterruptible power supply, which brings intelligent capabilities and cybersecurity to industrial applications ranging from manufacturing facilities to agricultural plants to global military installations. The Ferrups FXTM UPS is designed for harsh power environments in industries where downtime can have a significant impact on safety, production and revenue.

“The internet of things has created new possibilities for industrial users to achieve efficiency and reliability gains that drive process and production improvements,” said Jay Queen, product manager, Eaton, in a press release. “We designed the Ferrups FXTM UPS with enhanced connectivity and cybersecurity safeguards, building on the reliable power protection customers have come to expect from the Ferrups UPS, while protecting data against unwanted intrusion.”

The Ferrups FXTM UPS integrates intelligent power management to help protect critical infrastructure in the event of unplanned power events. Users in these environments can leverage the connected capabilities of the Eaton Gigabit Network Card or Industrial Gateway Card, the first UPS network cards to achieve dual cybersecurity certifications from industry organizations UL and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).

Ferrups FXTM UPS users can integrate Eaton’s recently redesigned PredictPulse remote monitoring service to gain insights into potential issues and mitigate potential power interruptions before they happen.

The first model of Eaton’s Ferrups FXTM UPS, the FX3100, is now available in North America and represents the first of six models set to release in the family of Ferrups FXTM UPS offerings.
